    The KilnGuides Sponsor Charter

    Version 1.0 · Published 22 April 2026

This is what sponsors of KilnGuides get, and what we ask in return. We publish it so every sponsor, every reader and every regulator can hold us to the same terms.

This is version 1.0, published 22 April 2026. We review this Charter every quarter and publish a changelog on this page whenever it changes.

    01

    Category exclusivity, actually enforced.

Your category is yours for the term you paid for. No competing sponsor in your defined category will appear on pages you sponsor, for the length of your agreement. The category definition is written into your contract, not left implicit. If we ever take money from a direct competitor within your term, we refund the remainder and publish a brief explanation of what went wrong.

Category exclusivity applies per KilnGuides vertical. A sponsor on one vertical has no say over who sponsors any other KilnGuides site.

    02

    Plain-English contracts, one page.

Your sponsorship agreement is readable in five minutes. No 30-page media-pack boilerplate. No small-print retention clauses. Fixed price, fixed placement, fixed term, written so a sole trader or a small business owner can sign it without a solicitor.

    03

    Fixed terms, no mid-contract surprises.

Your rate is locked for the term you signed. Your placement is locked for the term you signed. We will not raise prices, move your logo, swap your creative or change the pages you appear on halfway through. If we want to change anything, we wait for renewal and offer you the new terms first.

    04

    Real monthly reports.

Every sponsor gets a monthly report with impressions, click-throughs, and any editorial mentions that touched your category. No vanity metrics. No inflated reach figures. No "placeholder impressions" from pages nobody visited. If we ever miss a report, we tell you why and send the missing numbers the following month.

    05

    Named human contact, every sponsor.

For the length of your sponsorship you have a named point of contact at Kiln Guides Ltd. Not a ticket queue. Not a self-serve dashboard. Not an outsourced account manager who cycles every six weeks. One person, one email, one phone number.

    06

    Honest audience numbers, published publicly.

Our traffic numbers are published on a public stats page or dashboard. We will not inflate reach figures to close a deal, claim engagement we cannot evidence, or mix organic and paid metrics to flatter a pitch. What you see before signing is what we show everyone else.

    07

Your brand stays off safety content.

Your logo will never appear on our mental health, crisis signposting, domestic abuse, assault reporting, women's safety, trans safety, menopause, immigration distress or similar welfare pages. This protects your brand as much as it protects readers. If a placement like that ever happens in error, we fix it the same day and tell you.

    08

    Editorial independence protects you too.

The same wall that stops us taking money to tilt content also protects you. We will never let a competing sponsor influence a guide in your category. Rankings, recommendations and comparisons follow our KilnGuides Reader Charter, not whoever paid us most recently.

    09

    No editorial influence, no exceptions.

In return for everything above: you do not see guides before they go live. You do not review copy about your category. You do not request edits, withdrawals or "angles." If we publish something about your sector you disagree with, you have the right of reply set out in commitment 9 of our KilnGuides Reader Charter. That is the only route, and we will honour it in full.

These boundaries apply even if you are our largest sponsor or a multi-vertical partner. They exist to keep us compliant with UK advertising and consumer-protection rules, and we do not override them. Multi-vertical partners have no additional rights over our editorial decisions or over who we work with on other KilnGuides sites.

    10

Pro-rata refund if we wind down.

If we discontinue a KilnGuides vertical you sponsor before your term ends, we refund the unused portion of your fee. No retention tricks. No "credits toward another vertical" unless you want that. Your money, back in your account, within 30 days.

When you join as a sponsor, we will welcome you with a shout-out on our social media channels. You also have the option to run a giveaway or prize draw to our combined KilnGuides audiences at no extra cost, subject to UK promotion and advertising rules.

These ten commitments bind Kiln Guides Ltd, a UK-registered company. They sit alongside the KilnGuides Reader Charter and our funding policy. If you cannot live with them, please do not email. If you can, we would like to hear from you: advertise@kilnguides.co.uk.
